If you’ve been playing Aion Online, I’m pretty sure you noticed that there’s grinding to be done, every level, at least after you pass level 25. However, questing is the main leveling method not only in Aion but in many MMOs, and players prefer it to grinding, mostly because by doing quests the game sets up goals and achievements for you, you get rewards and you get involved in the game storyline.

On the other hand, grinding has “boring” as a main characteristic but in Aion, well folks, it’s necessary. Until level 20, you usually get enough XP from quests plus gathering and crafting, but after level 20, you’re going to feel the lack of XP.

So, here are a few good spots for grinding in Aion Online for Elyos and Asmodians, for 20+ levels:

Elyos:

- lvl 20-22 - Eltnen Fortress or Eiron Forest, Eltnen – grind on everything it moves at these locations;

- lvl 22-24 - Revenge Valley, Theobomos – grind on the level 22-24 harpies here;

- lvl 22-25 - Putrid Mire and Eiron Desert, Eltnen – kill whatever it moves at the Putrid Mire and grind on the Basilisks, Gnarls and Kurins in Eiron Desert;

- lvl 24-25 - Eltnen – grind on Ancient Caryatids wherever you can find a good camp (if the ranged ones are a problem, don’t bother);

- lvl 25-27 - Eltnen – Ancient Caryatids;

- lvl 32-34 - Fire Temple, Eltnen – grind on Upper Abyss Drakes (34 lvl) , or on whatever you can kill solo; if you can’t kill them fast solo, bring a friend;

- lvl 36-37 – Arbolu’s Haven, Heiron – grind on the undead mobs, all around Arbolu’s Haven;

- lvl 37-38 - Lepharist Citadel, Eltnen – Bring a friend and grind on all the elites you can kill here;

- lvl 37-40 - Kysis Isle, Upper Abyss (to the East) – Grind on all the Kysis mobs here, they are easy to kill and drop nice stuff and Kinah;

Asmodians:

- lvl 20-22 - Morheim Snowfield, Morheim (North) – grind on whatever it moves there;

- lvl 20-22 - Polluted Wastes (South), Brusthonin – grind on all the bugs there;

- lvl 22-24 - Patamor Ridge or Patamor Thicket, Morheim – The shroomy mobs are your main priority, if there’s competition grind on the elementals, a bit North;

- lvl 24-26 - Havenjark Farm and Havenjark Public Cemetery, Brusthonin – easy grind on all the zombies at these locations;

- lvl 26-29 - Fortress of Sorrow, Morheim – grind on the ghosts at this location;

- lvl 30-32 - Beluslan Fortress, Beluslan – grind on everything it moves at this location;

- lvl 32-34 - Mosbear Snowfield, Beluslan – grind on the Mosbears here; careful though they give a nasty debuff;

- lvl 34-37 - Besfer Ghost Village, Beluslan – grind on the undead (lvls 36-37);

- lvl 39-40 - Hunibor Ice Gate, Beluslan – grind on Snow Snufflers, Snow Taygas and Frost Eye Ettins, all pretty easy to kill;

However, always start grinding only when you run out of quests. If you follow an optimized quest route the XP bonus you get completing a cluster of quests is much better than what you can get by killing mobs at one or two camps.

Nothing comes cheap in Aion Online, even the usual consumables that you can buy from vendors, teleports or transportation, enchanting kits etc, can burn a hole in your pockets. It’s quite embarrassing when you need to move to a certain location with a group of people, and you lack the cash to get the flyer there. Therefore, keeping a high and constant cash-flow should be one of the main goals for every player.

Also, considering that throughout the progress of your character there are big chunks of grinding, it’s important to keep your character’s stats as high as possible to be a fast killer. Good gear is usually expensive.

There are many methods to earn Kinah in Aion Online. So, I’m going to present a few of them here.

1. Playing the Trade Broker

This is my favourite method, because it usually doesn’t take too much time. Even if I’m at work, a quick alt tab when the boss is not around can bring me nice profits.

This method consists, as you may have guessed, in buying low – selling high. But it’s not that simple. You need to know closely the market of your server, you need to study a little the supply and demand of your realm and learn what people desire most. It’s important to always have a character logged at the brokers, with money on it, to log in from time to time and check out for bargains.

However, applying this method you can also get burned, as sometimes prices can drastically drop, and, just like in real life, you may lose. Also, if you want to become a good at this way of making Kinah, it’s a good thing to have a decent stash of cash, to be prepared to make an good investment in certain materials, equipment or whatever you can find interesting to buy and sell at the Trade Brokers.

2. Selling from your Private Store

You can make nice profits selling stuff you gather or loot directly from your private store. As a general idea, it’s a good thing to set up your store everytime you go AFK. No matter what you’re selling, poor or high quality, you it’s important to make your merchandise attractive. The best way to do that is to set your store messages like: “Selling the CHEAPEST gear for grinding!!! ” , “Great deals for consumables at [your name]’s shop!!!” etc. Might sound funny, but this will make people come and buy your stuff. Of course, make sure you’re in a city where people can actually see where you are and come browse your shop.

3. Crafting

Not just for Aion Online, but for most of the games, it’s very important to get the maximum amount of professions that your character can learn, as soon as you set foot in that game, with that particular character. Sooner or later the professions will become one of your main sources of cash for that game.

Weaponsmithing, Armorsmithing, Handicrafting, Sewing, Cooking and Alchemy are the professions from which you can choose 2 for your toon in Aion Online.

No matter what game I play, I usually go for a craft oriented on consumables. Even if you can’t set high prices for the consumables you craft, you will always sell everything, as people always need consumables for PvP, killing mobs, raids etc. So, as consumable crafts in Aion Online I chose Cooking and Alchemy.

4. Hunting

This is one of the methods that players always appreciate. There’s a very nice feeling when you kill a mob and receive a piece of “phat” loot that you can use or sell for a high price.

In Aion Online, the Balaur mobs are maybe the best creatures to hunt for Kinah. These mobs have a consistent loot table. The equipment they drop is rich in PvP stats, equipment always in demand by PvPers. They also drop Nex and Platinum which is needed for crafting and can be sold for high prices. The Balaur drop raw Kinah as well, and even the “food-for-the-vendor” loot can get you fair amounts of Kinah.

In conclusion, to have your pockets full at anytime, it’s indicated to combine these 4 ways to make Kinah. That’s how the Kinah sellers do it, and that’s how the pros do it.

What is the Abyss?

The Abyss is a region of Atreia located between Elysea and Asmodae. This is the nucleus of Aion Online where the PvPvE content takes place. The Abyss is strictly for players over level 25, it’s an unpredictable area as it is the homeland of the Balaur, the NPC faction of the game. The creatures here provide excellent XP and loot, and there are many other challenges and opportunities here than in other zones of the game. In other words, the “juice” of Aion Online lies within the Abyss.

How To Get To The Abyss?

In order to enter the Abyss, a player must complete the Abyss Entry Quest, available at level 25. After finishing the with the quest chain, you will be able to open the Abyss Gates found in Eltnen or Verteron for Elyos, and in Morheim or Altgard for Amodians.

The Abyss Structure

The Abyss is divided in 3 main zones: The Lower Abyss, The Upper Abyss and the Abyss Core. The first Abyss zone is the Lower Abyss. The mobs here are 25-30 levels, exception making the fortress guards which are level 40. In the Upper Abyss, the second zone, the average level of the mobs is about 38, and the fortress guards are 50, as for the Abyss Core, there are only level 50+ mobs.

The Fortresses

The PvPvE battle within the Abyss is fought for the 9 fortresses scattered throughout the 3 major zones. Here are the fortresses for each zone:

Lower Abyss:

Sulfur Fortress - Sulfur Archipelago
Siel’s Western Fortess – Wings of Siel Archipelago
Siel’s Eastern Fortress – Wings of Siel Archipelago

Upper Abyss:

Krotan Fortress – Krotan Island
Roah Fortress – Ruins of Roah
Miren Fortress – Miren Island
Kysis Fortress – Kysis Isle
Asteria Fortress – Lake Asteria

Abyss Core:

Divine Fortress – Eye of Reshanta

Each fortress has an Aetheric field powered by an Aetheric field generator inside. To conquer any of the fortresses your group needs to destroy its gate with the use of various siege weapons and devices, then neutralize its Aetheric field generator to allow access from above and for last, find an kill the Guardian Deity of that particular keep.

During each battle, both factions must keep their eyes peeled and stay sharp, as a Balaur ship (Dreadgion), might drop in at anytime to balance or take control of the battle. They are unpredictable, you never know which faction they will attack, or how would they influence the course of the battle.
The Artifacts

Each citadel in the Abyss has a powerful artifact inside. They are the reasons the fortresses were built around them (doh!). Once a fortress is conquered, the faction which gains control will benefit from that artifact’s blessing. All the fortress artifacts have world wide beneficial influence.

There is also a number of 31 artifacts (at least at the moment) outside the fortresses. However the range of these artifacts is limited to the area around the fortress they are near. Some of the benefits of these artifacts have an influence to the faction that controls them, and some are used to disable or damage the soldiers of the opposing faction.
Abyss Points And The Ranking System

In order to get Abyss points, a player must kill opposite faction players, defeat Balaur NPCs, defeat opposite faction NPCs, or to complete quests in the Abyss. When defeated in combat by an opposite faction player or NPC, you lose Abyss points, so dying here really sucks. Based on the earned number of points, a player receives a rank.

The points can be spent for the purchase of equipment, but as the number of your points will diminish, you will lose your rank. There are 18 ranks in total. The lowest is Grade 9 Rank Soldier, the highest is Supreme Commander. High ranked players get access to skills and abilities, but if they spend or lose their points, they will lose their rank, an implicitly lose access to the rank based abilities.

Aion: Tower of Eternity brings to the MMO world 4 primary classes (also known as archetypes) a player can choose from: Warrior, Scout, Mage and Priest. Each primary class can select one of two paths after completing the Ascension quest at level 10. Warriors can become Templars or Gladiators, Scouts can be Assassins or Rangers, Priests are to be Chanters or Clerics and Mages can be Sorcerers or Spiritmasters.

Each class in Aion Online requires a distinct type of gameplay so, when creating your character choose your archetype wisely, for the role you want to play in Atreia. However, it doesn’t matter what faction you decide upon, each class is identical for both Elyos or Asmodians, the race does not offer you distinct abilities or anything like that.

To understand better the gameplay mechanics of each class in this MMO, and their roles in PvP and PvE, here are a few brief descriptions for the archetypes and classes of Aion: Tower of Eternity.

The Warrior Archetype – This is, no wonder, the heavy class of the game. They wear plates and are designed for melee close combat. At level 10, a warrior must pick a subclass, becoming Templar or Gladiator.

The Gladiator - is a heavy melee DPS class. They have proficiencies for most melee weapons but their main speciality is using polearms. Their combat style is based on direct attacks, no dirty tricks spells or whatsoever. Gladiators are fearsome PvP opponents, they are important for every legion, and in PvE their heavy melee abilities are indispensable.

The Templar – is, no question, the heavy tank of this game. They have high defenses, use shields and 1-handed weapons, many defensive skills and abilities and also shield based powerful attacks. Templars are also have the proficiency for using greatswords and can switch on DPS mode if needed. The Templars’ tanking skills are crucial especially for hard bosses, respectively for end game PvE. Also, they can be very hard to kill in PvP, their shield skills and resilience giving quite a headache to any opponent.

The Scout Archetype – Scouts are light melee damage dealers, they wear leather armor and have defenses based on evasion. Their combat style is based on cunning melee or ranged attacks (based on subclass) and their attacks focus on the weaknesses of the opponent. Each scout must choose between Assassin and Ranger after the Ascension quest.

The Assassin – is a light melee DPS. They can use stealth, they have powerful stealth attacks, can poison their weapons and deal huge amounts of damage. They can make excellent infiltrators, disrupters or ambushers for PvP spotting the enemies weaknesses and in PvE they are excellent damage dealers.

The Ranger – is a class based on archery skills and abilities. They can wield bows but also daggers and swords for close combat. Rangers can also use traps and they are adaptable in any PvP or PvE close combat or ranged combat situation. However, this class is pretty expensive to play as arrows and trap reagents don’t come cheap.

The Priest Archetype – Priests are the healers of Aion Online. They wear medium (chain) armor, have powerful healing skills and abilities. They also have offensive skills, which combined with the regeneration and healing, can make the Priest resilient and effective combatants. The Priest Archetype involves two subclasses, Chanter and Cleric

The Cleric – is the main healer for this game. Clerics have powerful rejuvenating abilities, they can resurrect a dead player. For close combat they use shields and maces. They are indispensable in PvP and PvE. No matter what a group wants to accomplish, it’s very hard without a Cleric.

The Chanter – also a healing class of Aion Online. They have healing abilities and aslo powerful self and group buffs. They can use staves and have strong melee-staff attacks. Chanters make a great support class in both PvP and PvE.

The Mage Archetype – Mages are the main caster-type damage dealers of this game. They have low defenses but they can deal heavy amounts of ranged spell damage. They are also the crowd controllers and debuffers in Aion Online. The Mage Archetype divides in two subclasses, the Spiritmaster and the Sorcerer.

The Spiritmaster – is a pet-based class, as they use wind, fire, water and earth elemental pets according to the combat situation they are faced with. They don’t have many direct damaging spells doing they’re damage through the pets they summon and control. However, Spiritmasters have nasty debuffs that can turn even the toughest player or mobs into a weakling.

The Sorcerer – is a direct spell damage class. They have powerful fire, water, earth and wind spell attacks and also crowd control spells. The Sorcerer is a pure nuking class for both PvP and PvE, but as it is maybe the squishiest class of them all, they are usually the main target in PvP. In spite of the heavy damage a Sorcerer can inflict, since you need to kite all the time whatever you’re fighting against, this is by far, the hardest class to play in Aion.

I hope this helps you choose the class that suits your playing style best. However, to get the full potential out of your character, I strongly recommend you to use a guide. To be sure that you pick a guide that worth your money, I made this comparisson review for the most popular Aion leveling and Kinah guides.

Most players in Aion Online have heard about the various guides created for this game, but only a few of them actually use a guide, to enhance their progress. Some are reticent, some think they don’t need a guide and some never heard about the guides at all. However, there are people who like to use leveling and Kinah making guides, not only for Aion but for other MMOs as well, because they usually contain about all the information for leveling, in-game money making or other aspects.

Players are reticent in using or acquiring leveling or Kinah guides for many reasons. They have the deluded idea that using as guide is cheating, they don’t trust the authors, they think most of the guides are scams or they think that a guide will ruin their whole game experience.

There are very few players that know everything about anything in a game. These are usually devoted players, who dedicate their time not just for playing the game, but to understand the game mechanics and get the maximum they can get from every piece of content.

Most of the players are in need of a guide, even if they don’t realize it. This doesn’t necessary mean that they don’t have the skills to play successfully, maybe they are just staring to play MMOs or maybe they just don’t have enough time to improve their gameplay. For example, it really sucks to pick up quests and start working on them randomly (this will make you waste your time), instead of following a certain route and complete more than 3-4 at one time.

Regardless their motive, using a guide will really help them to achieve their goal: to have fun and be able to compete with other players.

So, who really needs to use a leveling or Kinah guide?

I’ll start with the main category of players that can benefit from using a guide:

Casual players. Having their play time limited, it is crucial for them to advance fast through levels and to get a decent equipment, so they can be prepared for the end game content, where the real fun is. It’s important for them to use every minute at maximum, even if they play only a few hours a week.

Dedicated gamers. A really good guide uncovers the secrets known only by very few experienced players and this is exactly what are they looking for. A dedicated player can only enrich their game experience by using a guide.

Veteran players who just started a new game. They usually want to skip all the “boring” stages and jump right into the “action” level.

Players who want to go through all the content and to not skip any aspect that the game offer. They like to get involved in the storyline of the game. Very helpful here is a strategy guide that covers leveling, money farming, crafting, trading, etc.

Last but not least, there are players who really don’t know how to get past the “newbie” status or they simply can’t without help. This is not something to be ashamed of. Accepting the other people help and knowledge is the only way to improve yourself. After all, this is how we do in real life, right?

In the end I want to conclude by saying that there is no reason to not use an Aion Leveling Guide or an Aion Kinah Guide. You are not cheating if you use a guide, it’s like you are using a GPS to help you reach your vacation destination faster and easier. If you don’t trust the author, just look around for reviews, check their rating, look for samples of the guide you’re interested, see what other people say. This way nothing can go wrong and you can’t get scammed. And if you buy a guide and are not pleased with it, just make use of the money back guarantee that almost all guide authors are offer. You don’t risk a thing!
